The Unity Lens doesn’t work in Ubuntu 12.04. I’ve installed Recoll and Recoll Lens from the PPA (ppa:recoll-backports/recoll-1.15-on). I’ve tested it on two Ubuntu 12.04 installs, both with the same result. Unfortunately I have no idea how to debug Unity lens, so if you need more info, let me know what I can do to help.

The lens works just fine in Ubuntu 11.10 though.

Thanks for reporting this, my 12.04 install is currently proceeding :)

I hadn't tested the lens on 12.04, bad me.

I removed the 12.04 package from the PPA, I’ll put it back when this is fixed (it seems that there were changes in the Lens interface).

I uploaded an updated lens for Ubunto Precise to the PPA, updates were necessary for the Unity 5.0 API.

It seems to work for me, so I’m closing this for now.

Hit there! I still having issues with Recoll Lens on 12.04… I tried it on Ubuntu 12.04 32 bits and 64 bits, from the ppa:recoll-backports/recoll-1.15-on ppa also, but it’s not working as it use to on 11.10. The Recoll search doesn’t appear on the home lens when searching for anything, and the recoll lens just don’t show the result expected. When it find some files, they appear with a black background over the item icon. Is there any solution for this? If you need more information, please ask me.
