On Recoll 1.17.3 + Xapian 1.2.16, I made the following skippedNames: skippedPaths = bin boot lib .* cache dev lib* mnt proc sbin sys tmp v\ ar However, the subdirectories of e.g. lib still appear in the status bar on the bottom of the gui, and it spends considerable time indexing within them. Reproduces all the time.

skippedNames and skippedPaths are 2 different things. skippedPaths are paths, so your above list would be incorrect. It should be skippedNames = bin boot…
