I do not want some files to be indexed, so I’ve added their suffixes to the Skipped names list. However, the files are still listed within a query result, why? I’ve rebuilded the index (File/Stop indexing, File/Rebuild index).
File suffixes: .js .rtf
Recoll version: Recoll 1.17.3 + Xapian 1.2.12 http://www.recoll.org http://www.xapian.org Xubuntu 13.04

You need to enter these as *.js and *.rtf

Hm. So is this wrong: http://imageshack.com/a/img138/2292/w5vo.png ? My (only) current settings.

Very sorry, the comment formatter ate my characters, I should have used the preview. I meant:
*.js *.rtf

This is rather strange. According to both the manual page http://www.lesbonscomptes.com/recoll/usermanual/RCL.INSTALL.CONFIG.html and pre-installed settings (see my link above) there’s not need to use a wildcard syntax. Or are they incorrect?

I’m not sure what you mean, there are wildcards in the pre-installed list. Maybe you are mislead by .git, .hg, etc. ? But these are not file suffixes, these are hidden directory names (verbatim, no need for wildcards). I’ll correct the manual to make it very clear that wildcards are interpreted for values in this list.

Oh, I see, I got your point. My mistake, sorry for that. I’ll update my settings (and if I’m silent everything’s OK) Thank you very much! Cheers, haw
